Privacy Policy

Vamea is a local-first personal timeline. This policy explains what the app can process, why it does so, and what remains under your control.

Effective date: September 21, 2026

Short version: Vamea does not use an account, Vamea server, advertising, cross-app tracking, or automatic upload of your timeline. The app’s core history is processed and stored on your iPhone.

1. Information Vamea can process

With the permissions you choose in iOS, Vamea can process the following locally:

Location and spatial context, including coordinates, precision, speed, visits, changes of place, times, and place references.
Motion and activity signals, including movement state, steps, distance, and elevation or barometer information when available.
Optional Apple Health information, such as sleep, workouts, mobility, activity, and daylight, when you grant read-only access.
Information you provide, such as corrections, categories, names and roles for personal places, notes, address references, and links you choose to save.
Local technical diagnostics made available by iOS, including collection state, timestamps, version metadata, performance, energy, and MetricKit reports.

Vamea does not request contacts, photos, microphone, camera, messages, payment information, or a user account.

2. How the information is used

The information is used only to preserve evidence, reconstruct your personal timeline, suggest places and intervals, show descriptive patterns, support corrections and rebuilds, diagnose collection, and create an export when you request one.

Apple Health data is optional and read-only. Vamea does not write to Apple Health and does not use Health data for advertising, sale, or an advertising profile.

3. Storage and sharing

Your evidence, corrections, personal places, derived timeline, and local diagnostics remain in the app’s storage on this iPhone. Vamea has no Vamea server, account system, automatic upload, or third-party analytics SDK.

An export or portable backup leaves the device only when you explicitly choose a destination in the iOS share sheet. The destination you choose then handles that copy under its own practices. Review the period and contents before sharing.

4. Maps and external links

Maps and place searches use Apple Maps and MapKit. When you search or open a map, the query, displayed area, and technical information required by Apple may be sent to Apple’s services under Apple’s policies. A Google Maps link is stored only when you choose to paste it and is opened only when you ask.

5. Your controls

Pause or resume collection in Vamea.
Change Location, Motion, and Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings.
Review, correct, split, merge, or undo timeline changes.
Protect the app with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.
Choose the period and type of export.
Delete the app to remove local app data, subject to iOS backup settings.

6. Changes and contact

If Vamea ever adds a server, account, synchronization, third-party SDK, or another material sharing path, this policy will be updated before that change is activated.
